Expanded polypropylene is a polypropylene-based particulate foam. Processing in the so-called molding process takes place in special molding machines. The actual processing steps consist of softening the foam particles by means of vapor (vapor temperature approx. 140 to 165 ° C - depending on the type of raw material), so that they melt. In contrast to polyurethane foam parts, retroactive processing (such as deburring) is not necessary for EPP molded parts. EPP is regularly used in the automotive industry, especially in the luxury models.

In the installation industry, for example, the central heating boiler manufacturers use EPP parts; many fit into the ventilation technology suppliers / manufacturers of ventilation units EPP. In particular, the design flexibility and the constant form factor underlie this choice.
